Jim Boeheim Fucking HATES Stats

Not only is this classic Jim Boeheim, this is classic old guy stuff here. First off, he's yelling about KenPom - the predictive measuring site that is based completely on efficiency. KenPom takes your offense by points per 100 possessions and defense by points let us per 100 possessions. What he's screaming about isn't KenPom - which is run by one person, not some group like Boeheim is screaming about. He's screaming about Synergy - a site that breaks down every play a team runs and separates who did what both on offense and defense. 

Now, I will say he's not necessarily wrong that you have to use some sort of personal touch when looking at stats and who is to blame. But, luckily we all can do that. Boeheim can do it himself if he wants! I just love that he went straight up old man ranting about stats. No doubt he doesn't give a fuck about analytics. Imagine trying to tell him what a 2-for-1 is, you might break his brain. 

Even better is when he starts looking at the reporter and asking if he's paranoid. Just perfect Boeheim. I can't stand him, never liked him, but I don't want him to leave. There's something special about when he goes on his old man curmudgeon rants. Even when he brings up Nova guys playing hard as shit. Never change, Jim. Never change. 

PS: I want to see a kindergartener break down Syracuse's 2-3 zone even more now. Need some smart hoops kid vs KenPom right this second.
