Tim Tebow Had Discussions With The XFL But Wants To Hit .200 In AAA Instead Like An Idiot
(PFT)--“There was some communication,” Tebow told reporters on Sunday regarding the XFL at a press conference held in connection with his current gig as an aspiring Major League Baseball player in the Mets organization.
“We had a couple conversations,” Tebow added. “But it was pretty clear that this was — I love what they’re doing. I think it has a chance to have success. And I think that’s great. And so I think there needs to be a place for a lot of players that are really good and should and could be playing in the NFL and are better than a lot of NFL players. And there’s a chance they’re going to be seen. So I think it’s awesome and I think it’s good for a lot of guys that are going to get a spot on an NFL roster because they’re going show a team that they’re worth it. But for me this is what I wanted to do and pursuit it and be all in and just, yeah.”
I suddenly feel like all of Tebow's ex-gf...all flirting, no fornicating. I have liked the XFL so far. It's not great, but it is football. And having football as an option is always a good thing. The ONLY thing the XFL needs is names to give it gas. Cardale Jones is one of those names, but there is no bigger possible name than Tebow. A legend. An icon. A guy who is a minor league bum and only gets promoted through the levels thanks to his name. Give it up, man. Stop being so selfish. Give the people what they want and what they want is to see you play football. Half the country wants to say you suck. And the other half wants to talk about how you win. It is great theatre. Sign some deal with Vince McMahon that gives you a cut of ad revenue for the next year that is inflated by all the people who have an opinion about Tim Tebow. That is really what I want the XFL to be. A landing spot for all the sweet ass college quarterbacks who either flamed out or weren't given a fair shake in the NFL for whatever reason. A league with Cardale Jones, Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, Tyler Bray, and a Dennis Dixon equivalent which I guess is now Marcus Mariotta. If Tebow plays ball the XFL can make it. Tebow leaking this news is flat out rude. If you're not playing then just shut up. Don't get our hopes up. Be the world's greatest or leave me alone
PS: It's a running joke on Redline that I have a list of QBs that I KNOW would be good NFL starters if they had only been given the chance. I am going off of memory so I reserve the right to add to this list if I forgot about someone at the time of writing but here we go
