Carlos Correa Now Claims Jose Altuve Didn't Want His Jersey Ripped Off After His ALCS Walk Off Homer Because He Had a Bad Tattoo On His Collarbone

The Athletic

So when he’s running from third base to home plate, I’m the guy up front. The first one waiting for him. He’s like, “Don’t take my shirt off.” The second reason — he doesn’t want me to talk about this, but I’m going to say it, is because he’s got an unfinished tattoo on his collarbone that honestly looked terrible. It was a bad tattoo, and he didn’t want nobody to see it. He didn’t want to show it at all.

So, one, he didn’t want to take his shirt off because his wife had told my wife earlier in the year for me to not do that. So he was telling me not to do it. And, number two, he had an unfinished tattoo that looked kinda bad that he didn’t want people to see and people to talk about. That was the reason.

Ah now that explains it! First we thought the reason Jose Altuve didn't want to take his jersey off when he hit a home run to go to the World Series was that he's shy. So shy he never takes his shirt off. Never.

Then we heard it's because his wife told him to not take it off or else she'd get mad at him. Another horrible excuse that made no sense. Now we've learned it's because Altuve had a BAD TATTOO and was embarrassed for everyone to see it.

WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?

If you hit a walk off homer off Aroldis Chapman that sends your team to the World Series you think you're going to have the frame of mind to remember you have a bad tattoo on your collarbone and that you need to scream to your teammates to not rip your jersey off? If you didn't want your jersey ripped off because of the tattoo then why not leave it on during the celebration rather than immediately run into the clubhouse to change into another shirt? Because you wearing a buzzer pal.

That actually might be the single worst excuse I've ever heard for anything. I believe Sammy Sosa forgetting how to speak English in front of Congress over that. How can you not come up with a better fake reason after all these months? It's insane. How can you honestly expect anyone to believe this shit?

I would pay to see Correa try to tell this to Bellinger's face. I'd pay all of the money I have. It's a goddamn crime these two teams don't play during the regular season this year.

Also in that Athletic article today Correa said that Altuve never cheated.

But Altuve has never cheated. He didn’t cheat in 2017 when nobody knew about the system. Why would he cheat in 2019? … Altuve has played the game clean. Always. Always. He earned that MVP. He hit that home run off (Aroldis) Chapman fair and square. He was not wearing buzzers. That’s a story that a fake account on Twitter broke, and then people just got on that wagon and started talking about the buzzers. Like, no. Nobody thought about buzzers. Nobody was using buzzers.

YUP! Never once! Played the game completely clean and deserved the 2017 MVP, which he didn't deserve in the first place. Yeah the whole team cheated and Altuve was the one white knight in shining armor to say no to it. I'm sure dude. Fuck you Correa.
