School Administrators Doing It Big Again: Ban Girl Who Shaved Her Head To Show Solidarity With Her Friend Battling Cancer From School Because It Violated Dress Code

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.A 9-year-old girl was kept out of class Monday, because of her support for a friend who is fighting cancer. Kamryn decided to have a big makeover — shaving off all of her hair in solidarity with a friend who was starting chemotherapy to treat cancer. “I was really excited I would have somebody to support me and I wouldn’t be alone with people always laughing at me. I would at least have somebody to go through it all,” says Delaney, who just began chemotherapy. But Kamryn’s school, Caprock Academy, has a policy against shaved heads for girls. The school told her she couldn’t come back to class until she got a wig or her natural hair grew back because her shaved head violates the dress code. Kamryn’s mother emailed the school explaining why she got the extreme haircut, but administrators at first said they couldn’t make exceptions. Since this story started getting some media attention the school has changed its tune. FOX31 Denver learned late Monday afternoon that officials plan to hold an executive session Tuesday to review the policy. In addition, Kamryn has been invited back to school Tuesday.

Generally I tend to make fun of school administrators for being the most detached, delusional, idiotic, bone headed people on the planet. But they may have a point this time. I mean if you let one girl shave her head to show solidarity with her friend who has cancer then pretty soon everybody is going to be shaving their heads to show support for friends who has cancer. Then what? Well then you got chaos. Suddenly the entire zero tolerance policy of school administrators will be called into question. School administrators will have to start using their brains and common sense for future decisions. Nope you can’t have it. It opens pandora’s box. Bottomline is If you let one cancer kid take an inch next thing you know they’ll take a mile. Rules are rules. No shaved heads on girls period.   The bigger question is who let the girl actually fighting cancer come to school?  What the rules don’t apply to her?   Put a wig on honey!

PS – How about school officials holding an executive session on Tuesday to review the policy. Think about that for a second. These buffoons need to hold a special meeting to discuss whether banning this girl from school was the right move or not. Newsflash every single person at that school who was part of this decision or let it happen should be fired no questions asked. The fact it took the media to get involved before they changed their mind is surreal. There is no come back or second chance for this type of stupidity. Anybody this dumb shouldn’t be allowed to breathe the same air as the rest of us nevermind responsible for teaching our kids.
