Premier League Players Get Caught On Film Inhaling Balloons While EPL Is On Winter Break
A group of Premier League stars have been filmed appearing to inhale from balloons while on holiday during their winter break.
While it is not known what was in the balloons, they are sometimes used for inhaling "hippy crack", or nitrous oxide.
Brighton & Hove Albion players Shane Duffy, Pascal Gross, and Leandro Trossard, and Alireza Jahanbakhsh can be seen in the clip apparently inhaling a substance from balloons, in a clip shared by a Brighton fan on Twitter.
The winter break in the English Premier League is one of the worst things in soccer, besides international breaks. For those who don't know, teams usually get a week or so period where they have no scheduled games following the busy holiday period. So you're forced to go cold turkey after a month or two of high energy, important soccer games.
Sidenote - There is about a sixteen-day gap between Chelsea games because of this break. Sixteen. I have five more days to go until they return for this huge stretch of games. It has been very... lonely.
Now in terms of this Brighton incident, I feel like this is typical soccer lad behavior. It feels like just yesterday that Leicester City players decided to make a "racist orgy" sex tape on their Thailand tour. That incident led to three players getting released. I'm not quite sure how the orgy turned racist but the punishment seems fair.

This incident is nowhere near the Leicester City controversy in terms of severity. Just a couple of dudes doing a couple of inhalants. The only people they're harming are themselves, not anyone else (hopefully). That being said, I'm not too sure what the repercussions are for something like this. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a major offense to be inhaling balloons and it's not like they can prove what was in the balloons anyways.
The video of the balloons being inhaled has since been deleted but screenshots from the video shows several Brighton players with balloons in hand, sucking down whatever may be in the balloons.
PS - all I can think of when I hear inhalants is Steve-O from Jackass. I used to watch Steve-O: Demise and Rise literally once a week in middle school. Seeing him do whip-its and various other hard drugs will always stick out in my head.
