Controversial Delayed Movie Where The Rich "Hunt People" Is Finally Getting Released

Let's try this again!

Loosely based on the 1924 short story The Most Dangerous Game, by Richard Connell,[6] the film follows 12 strangers who mysteriously wake up in a clearing. They do not know where they are or how they got there. They discover that they have been chosen to be hunted in a game devised by a group of people from the rich elite. The hunters gather in a remote facility called the Manor House, but their sport gets derailed when one of the hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin), fights back and starts killing them one by one. There was a ton of controversy surrounding this movie over its premise back in the late-summer of 2019. Marketing for the movie stopped following tragic mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso. Then, finally, the movie was just flat-out put on the shelf and pulled from the release schedule.

Well, Blumhouse has decided the time is right for a movie that some people have already seen, even though the poster says differently...

(What a ridiculous statement, by the way. 'The Hunt' made some news for a while, but it was by no means the most talked about movie of last, or even this, year.)

Yes, you read that right, this man is involved…

Damon Lindelof, the creator of many things, but most recently 'Watchmen' on HBO, co-produced and co-wrote the movie. That's enough right there to have me on-board with seeing this movie opening weekend. I did say something that still holds true in my original post about this movie in late July of last year…

…overly political movies in this genre can be a turn-off, especially following the nonsense that was on display with that abysmal 'The First Purge' movie. I thought the handling of politics, race, and class was done at the highest level of quality possible with 'Watchmen', so Lindelof's involvement sways me. The cast is also really strong…

Will it be a good movie? Who knows these days with Blumhouse, a studio that will make a fucking fortune whether they release an Oscar contender or a giant turd. Because of the momentum from Lindelof with 'Watchmen', I do have a bit more hope for this movie nearly six months after the initial trailer, that's for sure. Will you be seeing 'The Hunt'? Let us know below…
