What: 64-Team (2 people per team), Double-Elimination NBA Jam Tournament on Sega Genesis
When: Saturday, February 15th. Registration opens at 3pm. Tournament starts at 4pm.

Why: To crown one champion team while having an awesome time and raising money for a phenomenal charity.

Celebrate the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend with Big Cat and the Barstool Chicago crew on Saturday, February 15th in at Joe’s On Weed in Chicago, IL for the first annual NBA Jam Tournament. This 64-team tourney will consist of 2-player teams (128 contestants total) battling on Sega Genesis for the right to be crowned Champions.
But because it’s Sega Genesis, there’s only two controllers. That means you and your partner will be sharing one controller, switching-off each quarter.
Format will be double-elimination, split amongst 4-regional groups. Each regional group will consist of 2 Sega Genesis consoles and host 16-teams. The winner of each region will advance to the Final Four to compete on the big screen under the bright lights of Joe’s On Weed.
Also included: Split-The-Pot presented by Big Cat, Pop-A-Shot side games, informal and frequent trips to the neighboring OTB, plenty of cold ones and possible even Speed Pitch with WhiteSoxDave depending on preliminary interest.

If we receive more than 64 teams during the sign up window, we will conduct a random raffle to determine the field. Please note: your $10 reservation fee does not guarantee you a spot in the tournament.
Once the tournament field is decided, we will assign an NBA Jam team to each 2-person team. The NBA Jam team assigned will be your team throughout the tournament. As such, it will be your responsibility to know and understand your personnel the best.

I'm not really sure what more you need to know about February 15th. This is going to be the tournament to end all tournaments in our backyard at the best venue in Chicago for shit like this, Joes On Weed. We've got the first ever Big Cat + Eddie National Anthem. We got Split the Pot. We got pure chaos sharing the controller and a bunch of prizes to give away like used catching equipment from White Sox Dave's trunk.
Go to the link to sign up for a spot in the tournament. It's $10/team and if we get more than 64 teams, we'll raffle off the 64 spots. All proceeds go to Anthony Rizzo's charity because it's someone's responsibility to pay the man. We want to do our part.
