Roy Williams Went Berserk With One Of His Patented Locker Room Dances Because UNC-Chapel Hill Is Finally Closer To Making The NIT!

Huge congrats to UNC-Chapel Hill. I sincerely mean that. Not anyone can win back-to-back games against a Miami team missing two starters and NC State to get back to .500. That deserves some locker room celebration. Not everyone can be eligible for the NIT, 20 games in the season because you FINALLY got back to .500. That's plenty of reason for Roy to dance his ass off!

Let's talk about the ACC for a second too. I tweeted last night that the o/u for ACC teams making the Tournament is 4.5 with the under at like -300. This isn't the standard ACC where teams beat up on each other and still get 8 teams in because there's a bunch of quality wins. Outside of Louisville, Duke and Florida State, there are a lack of quality wins available but instead plenty of chances for terrible losses. Just ask NC State.

There are only 4 teams in the ACC ranked in the top-50 of the NET with Virginia Tech right at 50. Good luck figuring out who the 4th best team in the conference is. I guess it's Syracuse since they are on a winning streak, but they are beating up on bad teams. It's not like they have some awesome resume to rely on or did anything in the nonconference.

Back to UNC-Chapel Hill. Cole Anthony recently said he's still working his way back from an injury - suffered 6 weeks ago. Sure, Garrison Brooks has improved and looked like an offensive threat again, but UNC needs Cole back in order to have an outside shot at the NCAA Tournament. Why? Right now they are 3-5 in Quad 1 games (NC State has a chance to fall to Quad 2) but they are 2-4 in Quad 3 games. They have 11 regular season games left and are projected to win just 4. They get Duke twice and go to FSU, Louisville and Syracuse. If they don't go 3-2 in those 5 games just go ahead and stick a fork in them.

Wonder if Roy will dance in the CBI or NIT.

PS: How lucky is UNC that the NIT doesn't require you to be .500 any more?
