Real Madrid Honor Kobe Bryant With Moment Of Silence Before Training, Captain Sergio Ramos Wears Kobe Team USA Jersey

There isn't much to say about the tragic death of Kobe Bryant that hasn't already been said. It's all very sad and upsetting news that absolutely no one was expecting. To be quite honest, I don't think there is any combination of words that I - or anyone else - can say that will truly capture how influential, how memorable Kobe Bryant was during his lifetime. Yesterday, to see how many organizations, athletes, journalists, everyday people, etc. came out to express their feelings for the situation was simply moving.

It was a moment of class from Real Madrid. To take time out of their training schedule to honor someone who meant so much to so many different people. Most times, moments of silence in soccer are reserved for people who meant a lot to the soccer world/someone who meant a lot to a specific league or club. So for Real Madrid to do this is pretty special and unique.

Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos, even made a point to come out and wear a USA Kobe jersey to honor his memory. I think it just goes to show that Kobe was far more than an athlete, he transcended sports. Not just basketball, sports.

Rest in Peace Kobe, GiGi, and the rest of those whose lives were ended too short in the tragic accident. Prayers go out to all families involved.
