Kobe Bryant Thinks There Are Current WNBA Players Who Could Play In The NBA

SOURCE-"There's a lot of players with a lot of skill that could do it."

Bryant went on to name three WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) stars who he believes could make the jump into the men's league.

"Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore, Elena Della Donne. There's a lot of great players out there so they could certainly keep up with them," he said.

Kobe is probably the biggest ambassador the WNBA. I've heard him discuss his love for the game has been influenced by his daughter, which is awesome. I know this is kind of ironic considering Kobe's past, but NBA superstars supporting the WNBA will help with the success of the league.

All that being said this is just such a wrong take from Kobe. Could they play in the NBA? Yeah they could play, but would they play well? No. The best WNBA player could not even sniff an NBA roster and that's not a knock against them at all. They are all phenomenal at basketball, but thanks to physiological differences men are just bigger, stronger, and faster at the highest levels on average.

A 3-point specialist wouldn't work either. The 3-point specialist would most likely be too big of an issue on defense. Also, the NBA as a whole has a higher 3 point percentage than the WNBA (35.4% vs. 33.8%) and the 3-point line in the WNBA is closer to the hoop than the NBA.

This isn't a knock on the WNBA. All of the players in the WNBA are phenomenal basketball players, they just aren't NBA players. Suggesting that they are kind of diminishes them
