MLB's Hall of Fame Voting Is The WORST

I don’t want to get into this too much because it’s so goddamn exhausting, but I’d also be remiss to not at least reiterate it because it’s somewhat hot in the baseball news now that the Astros shit is a week old. But MLB Hall of Fame voting SUCKS ASS.

It doesn’t work like it use to because most people have caught on to the troll job, but starting a few years back I’d photoshop a fake ballot just to piss people off. Naturally I’d leave off the most deserving candidates, add the former Sox players or vote for arbitrary players like Juan Pierre just because.

But anyways, it’s seriously so tiring watching a bunch of holier than thou writers nit pick players about X, Y and Z while making their votes completely about themselves.

I’m kinda being hypocritical here because I’m bitching about people’s ballots, but what brutal freaking submissions here.  They honestly piss me off.  To me they scream, “LOOK AT ME!!!”.  Like the last ballot is so bad you could arguably take any one of my fake ballots and say they’re better.  It’s gross.

In the end, to me it boils down to this: the Hall of Fame is a baseball museum.  It’s supposed to archive the best players in different eras of the sport and tell the story of the game’s history.  If a player was statistically one of the best players in any given era, even one considered to be dark like the Steroid Era, he should be in.  Obviously there are intricacies involved, but the best players in any given era should be voted in because they were big parts of the ever evolving story and history of the game.  If they juiced, were pieces of shit off the field or assholes to the media, just say so on their plaque.  Tell it like it is.  To me, that will help eliminate a lot of the debate regarding who should be in/out.
