With Embiid out, Al Horford Really Needs to Stop Playing Like Shit

It’s no secret that the Al Horford experiment has gone pretty fucking poorly to start the year. Putting up numbers well below his career averages has had fans in Philly irate. Some may say he’s even been playing like a pussy.

As of late Horford has been an embarrassment out there. He's showed zero aggressiveness, no intensity, and honestly has looked disinterested. On our recent 4 game losing streak, Horford averaged 6.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and a 29% FG percentage in an average of 31 minutes of game time. That is so fucking bad.

However, there is plenty of time left in the season for Horford to redeem himself and there’s no better time to start the comeback than right now. With Embiid sidelined for the foreseeable future, we simply can not afford to have a shitty Al.

Horford's responsibility just skyrocketed. He needs to be the man we expected him to be right now or else were in real real trouble. This is the reason we got him, to alleviate the problem we had last year when Embiid came off the floor. We have a brutal stretch of games coming up and we have little to no chance to compete with the beasts of the East with the current Horford and no Embiid. It all starts tonight against Al's former team. We’re 2-0 this year against Boston this year and Horford actually played pretty well in our first meeting.

However he cowardly decided not to play in what would have been his first return to Boston.

This is the perfect time for Horford to get back on track. He’s coming off a decent game against the Thunder, he’s going against his former team at home, and he’s going to be a focal point in the offense. Hopefully he dominates tonight and gains some confidence going forward to lead this team and to play better alongside Jo when he comes back.

This stretch of games should decide Horford’s fate on the Sixers. If he can build off of his game against the Thunder and show that we can still beat elite teams in the East without Embiid, then his value is enormous. However, if we continue this cold streak and he still looks like a reincarnation of Todd MacCulloch then there’s no way this team will be able to compete. Either way he’s gotta step the fuck up starting tonight.

Now here’s a trip down memory lane with some highlights of the tall glass of milk known as Todd MacCulloch. Sorry I couldn't find any highlights of him in a Sixers uniform. Probably because there was nothing to highlight
