Chinese Truck Driver Speared With A Huge Stake Of Wood

NYDN – A Chinese truck driver is fortunate to be alive after being speared by a long wooden stake. Li Feng suffered the horrific injury during a highway pileup while driving in the city of Kaifeng in China’s Henan province. His truck crashed into another vehicle that was carrying a large load of wood. “As a result of the accident, several of the wooden poles that were sticking out over the allowed limit from the lorry [truck] in front, speared into the lorry behind and smashed into the cab,” police spokesperson Li Wu told the Daily Mirror. “One of them went into the body of the driver who was pinned to his seat.”  Li Feng, 40, was taken to the hospital with the wood still piercing both sides of his body. Doctors were later able to remove the stake, which missed his heart by inches. He is expected to survive, but will remain in the hospital for a few weeks. “The only risk now is that we may not have removed all of the dirt and fragments of wood or material that may have been forced into his body,” Doctor Chung Peng told the Mirror. “If no infection sets in during the next few days, we expect him to make a full recovery.”

Can’t imagine anything worse than being some sort of manual labor person in China. Truck driver or factory worker or working in the fields or the docks or some shit. That would be terrible in any country but I feel like in China more atrocious shit like this is bound to happen. Like yea, can you get in a car accident in America if you’re a truck driver? Of course. Will you crash into a truck thats carrying gigantic wooden spears that impale you? Probably not. Just another day in the life of people who live in China.
