Wake Up With Edgar Renteria And The Marlins Walking Off The Indians For Their First World Series Title

This was the first really good World Series I remember seeing. The Indians beat the favored Orioles to advance to the World Series against a Marlins team that was only in their 5th season and had never won a World Series before, let alone make the playoffs. They won the Wild Card and never really looked back from there. Fast forward to a AWESOME Game 7 in which we saw Cleveland go up 2-0 early, only for the Marlins to creep their way back into the game and tie it at 2 in the ninth. Bottom 11 gave us Craig Counsell on third with the bases loaded and Edgar Renteria at the plate. Charles Nagy was thisssss close to getting out of the inning, but Renteria got just enough of the pitch to send it off his glove and dying into center field. Jim Leyland and the fighting fish brought home their first World Series title in a fantastic Game 7.

God I wish the Marlins wore these unis still. Fire threads back in the day.
