LET'S FUCKING GO! White Sox Sign Dallas Keuchel
This signing was SO SO SO SO SO needed in every single way. No, Keuchel isn’t a Cy Young level pitcher anymore. What he is is depth on depth on depth and the White Sox needed a LOT of that and Hahn and Co. just landed that depth.
Keuchel should provide 180-200 quality innings from the back end of the rotation. Ya know, the back end of the rotation that had Dylan Covey, Odrisamer Despaigne, Hector Santiago and Manny Banuelos last year. It was an UGLY, rag tag group. And now it has Dallas Keuchel and Gio Gonzales.
For this signing, no matter what the financials are, I’d implore White Sox fans to do two things:

his crazy ass ground ball rate. These stats were filtered back until 2015 too. Dude keeps the ball on the ground and that’s imperative for a back end starter at Guaranteed Comiskey Rate Park at the G Spot. If he performs to these projections:
we are MORE than happy.
The White Sox rotation come May will be this:
1. Giolito
2. Keuchel
3. Cease
4. Kopech
5. Lopez/Gonzales
and by July it will be Gio, Keuchel, Cease, Rodon, Kopech with Lopez and Gonzales working as the swing guys. This could very well be the best rotation in the division. The Twins have a DOG SHIT starting staff, the Tribe lost Kluber and Bauer, and the Royals/Tigers are the Royals/Tigers.
We are getting SERIOUSLY close to being THE team in the division, not A team in the division. I’d still add a DH a la Encarnacion and maybe even work on trading for someone like Price still as you can NEVER have too much SP, but as it sits right now the White Sox roster is looking awesome.

This team is starting to turn the corner, and big time. I called them out last week as a knee jerk reaction to not making a larger splash at the winter meetings and that was totally wrong and stupid of me. I apologize to all of them.
