Controversy Brewing In Southie Because A Black Chick Might Host The St. Patrick's Day Breakfast

(Globe)A controversy has erupted over who will host the famed St. Patrick’s Day breakfast this March in South Boston. Traditionally, hosting duties at the political roast have fallen to the sitting senator for the first Suffolk district, which has been an Irish-American male from South Boston since the 1940s. But now that Linda Dorcena-Forry, a black woman from Dorchester, has won that seat, she is being challenged for the hosting duties by Bill Linehan, a city councilor who hosted last year and claims the right goes to a South Boston politician. “The sitting senator has always hosted, and you don’t have to be Irish to do it. I believe that everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day,” said Senator Linda Dorcena-Forry.

Oh man how I’d love to be a fly on the wall when all the old, political Micks from Southie realized Linda Dorcena-Forry was going to be hosting the St. Patrick’s Day brunch. Would have done wonders to change peoples’ minds that Boston is a racist town. Wait, a black woman is hosting the brunch? Is she Troy O’Leary’s wife? NO?! Then how the hell does she get to host? Oh, we’ve just had a white/Irish dude as a senator since 1940? But somehow a black lady from Dorchester won this time? Hmmmm Ok, tell her she can host the St. Patty’s brunch if we can host the MLK Day BBQ. She thinks everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, I think everyone is black on MLK day. She tries some Guinness, I try some purple drank. Fair is fair.

PS – I just pretended that’s what old guys in Southie would say because I thought it was too racist to blog myself. Pass the buck, baby.
