Whoops! Dion Waiters Got Suspended For Telling The Heat He Was Sick And Then Posted An Instagram Of Him On A Boat

[Source] - The Heat officially announced that the six-game suspension was due to "failure to adhere to team policies, violation of team rules and continued insubordination." That language is intentionally vague, but now we have a big part of the story behind the Heat's decision. According to a report from Five Reasons Sports Network, which was confirmed by the Miami Herald, Waiters called out sick, then later posted a picture of himself enjoying some time on a boat.

Waiters' Instagram page is now private, and the photo seems to have been wiped from the internet, which means we unfortunately can't see what sort of boat he was on, nor what he was up to on said boat. Which, to be fair, is an important factor here. It's one thing to head out on the water to try and relax and feel better. It's another entirely to be partying on a yacht when you're supposedly sick.

Dion Waiters just lived everyone's biggest fear who has a job. If you work in a cube you 100% called in faking sick at least once. You just needed that day off, you couldn't take another day of people talking about the weather or spreadsheets or asking about lunch. You needed that day to yourself to sit around your house and do as you please.

The difference between us who spent time in cubes vs Dion Waiters is faking sick doesn't include hanging out on a boat in South Beach. I'm not going to sit here and post a photo on Instagram sitting in a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt from the mid-2000s as I have a beer with my hand down my pants. But, this is the fear. The fear is that one time you actually do something cool and you want to show everyone so you open up IG.

Now on the flip side I do wonder if this was on purpose. Waiters isn't happy in Miami anymore since he's being benched for Tyler Herro and been suspended multiple games already this year. This may have been a planned move, which if you're going to try and get suspended, why not do it going on a boat?

I can't believe Waiters was able to get this photo scrubbed from the Internet. I spent all morning looking everywhere for it. I figured someone took a screenshot and posted it on Twitter or somewhere and it's just gone. I had no idea he had this sort of clout - this is some Beyonce type shit.

PS: Wonder if it was this boat:
