Strasburg Back To The Nats - 7 Years, $245 Million!!

BOOOOOOOOM! That’s how the Winter Meetings kick off, if you don’t include Peter Gammons’ ramblings that are going to drive Hubbs to an early death. The major Nats storyline was  “who stays in DC- Stras or Rendon?” and now we have the answer. Pitching wins championships, Strasburg had an all time ALL TIMEEEEEEE postseason, and now looks like he will be retiring a Washington National. It’s a well-deserved contract obviously, but also probably means Rendon is gone. Which sucks. Big sucks. Rendon made it pretty clear he wanted to test free agency, and he is going to get PAID. I don’t hate keeping pitching over hitting, especially with the Nats core being young and having pieces like Carter Kieboom ready to come up.

Good for Stras. Great guy, been through it all, and now gets that one last huge HUUUUGE contract. Shit, the deal worked with Scherzer, so why not Stras? If he can put together a few more seasons like this last one, it pays for itself.

And hey who knows. Maybe old man Lerner will pony up and pay Rendon too. Can’t take that money with ya, after all.
