The Rangers Released New Pictures Of Globe Life Field And It Looks Insane
The Rangers are moving into a new park this upcoming season and the pictures and videos they released today are so dope. No one wants to play outdoors in the middle of the summer in Texas, so putting a retractable roof on this bad boy was a no brainer. They've got a massive screen in right center field so you can bet your ass off that Joey Gallo is going to try and hit it. Wonder what weird rules we'll have to get to know with the overhanging things in this park like the catwalk down in Tampa.
It looks like Marlins Park a little in left field with the big windows back behind the stands, and you have another huge video board in foul ground in left. 193 feet high over home and 210 over 2nd, again, I'm sure we will get some balls bouncing all around those catwalks. From these looks it appears to be absolutely MASSIVE.

If there is someone who can tell me where to place a bet that Joey Gallo leads baseball in home runs next season, point me in that direction. He's already taking hacks here and destroying baseballs. You can already tell that he likes it, and I bet he'd enjoy it more if Anthony Rendon were to sign there as well. But maybe the coolest thing they did was set the dimensions of the field to honor the legends that have played for the club.
The left field line will be 329' to for Adrian Beltre's #29. Would have loved a bust of Beltre out there too where you were invited to actually pet and touch his head as well.
Left field power alley is at 372' to commemorate the Rangers first year in Arlington, 1972.
Dead center is 407' for Pudge Rodriguez's 7.
The deepest part of the park is 410' for the professional hitter, Michael Young who wore 10.

Right field's power alley is 374' for The Turnaround Gang, the tram that went from 57 wins to 84 wins in 1974.
Right field's line is 326 for former manager, Johnny Oates' 26.
Home plate is 42' from the backstop to honor Jackie Robinson.
I really like what they did here, they took their own history to help mold the park and it looks awesome. Can't go wrong honoring those guys. Maybe we put in an all you can eat nacho bar for Prince Fielder?
