Reminder That If You're A Man And Have A Rolling Suitcase, Don't...

…That was the tweet I put out last Tuesday while boarding an Amtrak back to Boston and am still getting shit for today…

Before I “clarify” what I meant, here’s the level of vitriol that I was dealing with from that one tweet…

 All because I jokingly suggested that men  shouldn’t use roll on suitcases. Could the tweet have been better worded? Yes. Did I sound like a hardo? Absolutely, but if you’re telling me you haven’t been slowed down by someone dragging a rolling suitcase through a crowded terminal/train station/whatever at some point in your life, then you’re lying. To be clear, I’m talking about the kind of suitcase you drag behind you, not the kind you push next to you. Don’t get me wrong, they can be convenient, but convenience is only okay when it doesn’t inconvenience the people around you. ESPECIALLY in Penn Station on the most crowded travel day of the year, which is when I tweeted that out. People were literally standing ass to nuts with their suitcase in tow, rolling over feet, getting it caught on corners, tripping people up, it was incredible. Then they’d drag it down the aisle of the actual train. I’d never seen anything like it. It’s like they were actively trying to get in everyone’s way. I wanted to scream.

Here are the rules: You should only use a rolling suitcase IF…

a) you are physically disabled or injured

b) you are traveling by air

c) you are gone for more than a week/have a ton of stuff

Other than that, if you’re physically able to carry your stuff…you should carry your stuff. That’s not that crazy of a take, right? I’m essentially saying be considerate of those around you and know your surroundings. Alright good- we’re on the same page. No more rolling suitcases for short trips and no more rolling suitcases on the train. Have a great Monday!
