Darren Rovell Has Broken Twitter's Term's Of Service And Should Have His Account Suspended

WARNING: IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO SEE VIOLENT GRAPHIC CONTENT PLEASE UNFOLLOW DARREN ROVELL

Absolutely horrible. A disgusting display. We’ve probably all seen the Zapruder film at this point, but it should be our choice if we want to see it and when. Most of us wouldn’t choose to have a frame by frame gunshot murder thrust onto our timelines at 6:23AM. You shouldn’t have it shoved in your face by someone pandering for likes and engagement. It’s a display of graphic violence and it violates Twitter’s policies. Something I would expect Rovell to know

March 2019

You may not post media that is excessively gory or share violent or adult content within live video or in profile or header images. Media depicting sexual violence and/or assault is also not permitted.

We recognize that some people may not want to be exposed to sensitive content, which is why we balance allowing people to share this type of media with helping people who want to avoid it to do so.

For this reason, you can’t include violent, hateful, or adult content within areas that are highly visible on Twitter, including in live video, profile or header images. If you share this content within Tweets, you need to mark your account as sensitive. Doing so places images and videos behind an interstitial (or warning message), that needs to be acknowledged before your media can be viewed. Using this feature means that people who don’t want to see sensitive media can avoid it, or make an informed decision before they choose to view it.

Under this policy, there are also some types of sensitive media content that we don’t allow at all, because they have the potential to normalize violence and cause distress to those who view them.

Wow, pretty concrete violation. Rovell didn’t mark this tweet “sensitive”. He wanted people to have a splash of blood with their coffee this morning. He didn’t care if you were shocked or scarred or if he normalized violence. He wanted his likes. I for one am absolutely disgusted. I would never report Darren Rovell to twitter because I believe in free speech and I see twitter as a public utility, but I will be unfollowing him. If you feel compelled to report I can’t stop you. Use your best judgement when it comes to a guy looking to benefit from showing gratuitous violence and not marking it as sensitive. Pretty abhorent behavior.

If this tweet made you more interested in the JFK murder, Eddie and I have done four episodes of Dogwalk related to this event
