The Redskins aren’t mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet, and if this video is indication, 8-8 is a lock, a wild card berth is a guarantee, and the Super Bowl is in our future. Imagine your team *not* doing the running back on a leash drill? Couldn’t be me. The Jets might as well not even show up on Sunday after seeing this. How are they going to tackle anyone?
Look, I’m sure this drill does something. I also know I’ve never once seen a video of any other team ever running it. And as someone who has never been an NFL running back, maybe I am not at liberty to say if this drill is a good use of time and resources during practice. Whenever the Redskins do something, I immediately think “Would Bill Belichick and the Patriots do this?” and most of the time the answer is no. This one is easily hung in the “no” column.
But I’ll tell you what- when we see Derrius Guice break a 75 yard run because he has the greatest balance this side of a circus clown, nobody will be laughing any more. RB On A Leash Drill taking us to Miami.
