Florida State Has Fired Willie Taggart

It's not shocking, but I was certainly surprised when it came across my Twitter timeline. I guess losing to Miami at home was the last straw on the camels back.

Taggart finishes with a 9-11 record for FSU. His time in Tallahassee was a massive disappointment. The hype around him was significant and to be fired not even through his second season? One of the worst hires in P5 history. I feel bad for Willie, but not everybody gets an extra $18,000,000 to get fired.

Where does FSU go from here? I'm sure they'll give a call to Urban Meyer. Mike Norvell in Memphis will be at the top of their list. Maybe Sonny Dykes at SMU? His tenure with Cal didn't go to plan. Matt Campbell in Iowa State will get a call. I'd be surprised if he takes it. Brent Venables at Clemson? He seems more than okay to be the #2 guy for the rest of his life. Lane Kiffin? That would be WILD.
