Ovi Went On A Podcast And Chirped Whit For Spearing Him In The Balls Back In 2006

This week on Spittin’ Chiclets we discussed Ovi’s hot start to the 2019 season. Guy is just buzzing around out there like he is 25 years old, not losing a step at all. During the conversation, we asked the question if Ovi still remembers Whitney and the time he speared him in the nuts back in 2006. Well, in typical Chiclets Nation form, someone did some digging and found out that Ovi went on a podcast (Break The Ice w/ Mike Vogel) no less than two weeks ago and certainly has not forgot.

At 23:33 Ovechkin is asked about the Whitney spear that caused Ryan to be fined $1,500.

Mike: Do you remember that game in Pittsburgh where Ryan Whitney speared you?

Ovi: Right in the balls.

Mike: In the grapes, yeah and Brian Willsie came in and fought him. You guys were like losing 8-1 or something.

Ovi: Something like that

Mike: So how’d you feel about it?

Ovi: Was sore, but uh, I’m sure everyone at that point tried to fight that guy. He was not that good.

I have two theories here. The first being that Ovi has no fucking clue who Whit is and that mother Russia told him to shit talk the Whit Dog because Russia essentially wants Ryan dead. The second, is that every slapshot Ovi takes, he pretends the puck is Whit’s face and that is why he is still unloading powerplay bombs on a nightly basis.

Regardless, the only solution here seems to be Ovi coming on Spittin’ Chiclets to talk it out. What an interview that would be.
