I Played The Showdown With Showbiz Shelly Today And Lost (Unfairly)

For anyone who doesn’t know The Showbiz, she’s a local Chicago radio host who duels against callers in pop culture trivia every day. Mostly every local radio station in the world does this same song and dance. Except Shelly is a TITAN in the pop culture trivia industry. Her record is like 300 – 17. Complete blood bath live on air every morning. So earlier today I called in to Kiss FM for my shot at the belt. Here were the results:

Can we really count “Playoffs, World Series” as a fair answer to that last one? I mean seriously. She was just naming every type of sporting event basically. Wouldn’t have been as big of a deal if it wasn’t the tie-breaker, but it was. Honestly what if i said “Harry Stylez, Justin Bieber” to question #3 of the Showdown? Let me just fire off every single pop star that comes to my mind and lock them all in as my answer, one of them’s gotta be it, right? Would we allow that too? Kind of unbelievable. And that’s not necessarily on SBS, it’s on Fred since he’s technically the ref in these games. If that dude can sleep just fine tonight knowing he Joey Crawford’d a pop trivia game then good for him. I’ll take my beating, just wish it could have been fair.
