Diego Maradona Coached A Match While Sitting On A Throne Because Diego Maradona Does Whatever The Hell He Wants

[Source] - Diego Maradona was given a hero's welcome when he returned as a manager to face his old club Newell's Old Boys in the Argentine first division.

He only played a handful of times for the side in 1993, but they saw fit to welcome him like a king - even presenting him with a pitch-side throne.

DIEGO! What a goddamn legend, man. The dude played just a handful of times for Old Boys, literally just 5 appearances for them from 1993-94. You think they care? Absolutely not. You're talking about Diego Maradona, a man who brought Argentina World Cup glory. So the only right thing is to give him a goddamn throne to sit on during the match.

I actually need more of this. Imagine if this happened over here. Let's say John Beilein decides to come back to college after being with the Cavs and coaches at Michigan. Imagine him coaching the game with his 3/4 sleeves and tie loosened from a throne while people cheered him. It'd be hilarious - plus great content. At the same time though I question how many people can pull off the throne look. It's 100% Diego and it might just be him.

Not to mention, this is how he was greeted by fans.

Of course his team won 4-0 too. You don't lose a match while coaching on a throne. That's just a rule that every single sport follows.
