Watching Isaiah Thomas Look Like His Old Self Last Night Fucking Ruled

It feels great to say so please join me in welcoming back Isaiah Thomas back to playing real NBA minutes. We all know it's been a pretty brutal road since his famous 2016-17 season in which he was top 5 in scoring and a legit MVP candidate only to fuck his hip up giving his all for the Celtics franchise. It's been a long way back and a couple of bad situations later here we are with a great opportunity with the Wizards. They have a legit need for him, John Wall is out for the year and if last night is any indication Isaiah is going fill that void nicely.

I can't help but get a little emotional watching those highlights, it was the vintage Isaiah I remember. The threes (how about that one legged runner!!), the passing, the electricity, it was perfect. He started slow going 0-4 but I imagine he was pretty damn nervous and finished 6-14 with 4 3PM, 5 assists and was a +2 in his 20 minutes. I don't care if you're a Celtics fan or not, if you aren't rooting for Isaiah to get back to that 2016 form you are a gigantic asshole. The man went through hell in his personal life, then went through hell with an injury he probably could have avoided and the whole time he just stayed on his grind. It's an awesome story and seeing him back to getting buckets had me beaming from ear to ear.

At some point if he keeps looking like the old Isaiah he's going to get into the starting lineup or at the very least get close to 30 minutes a night and I think we're all going to be pleasantly surprised with how good he looks. Situations are everything in the NBA, and he wasn't healthy in either CLE or LAL, then with DEN that team has so much talent it wasn't where he was going to get the legit opportunity he needed to showcase his talent. That's all different in WSH and I cannot wait to see more of what we got last night.

The NBA is better when Isaiah Thomas is healthy and has the ball in his hands, and after a long road back it appears that's finally what we have. Let's go.

P.S.

Never forget
