If You Didn't Like The New Sturgill Simpson Album, A Deep Cut From 2013 Got Released And I Feel It In My Bones

An absolutely perfect deep cut Sturgill song to fill the void if you were excited for his new album that came out a month ago and didn’t like his new sound. “Sound And Fury” was a lot of things, but it wasn’t really the outlaw country vibe we’ve gotten from Sturgill and it’s not the sound that won him Grammys with Sailor’s Guide To Earth. Feitelberg LOVED it and blogged it well. Sound And Fury is rock and roll. I think it’s really good. The type of album that you can hit play on the first track, let it run for the entire road trip, and then start again at the beginning and do it all over again. I am sure that concert is going to be incredible. It’ll blow your hair back live and I can’t wait to see it. Having said that, I think Sound And Fury is his fourth best album out of four. Four Flame Candle somehow wasn’t good enough to make it on to High Top Mountain in 2013. Not sure how that’s possible. It’s a great tune. Just have 13 songs, man.

“Water In A Well” is my favorite cut off that album. One of his all time best.
