"Draft Mitchell Trubisky Over Me And You'll Have To Live With The Consequences"--Deshaun Watson in 2017

NFL Pro Bowl

(PFT)–Two of the quarterbacks at the top of that list are North Carolina’s Mitchell Trubisky and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, neither of whom has established himself as the clear No. 1 choice across the board a couple of days ahead of the draft. Watson was on NFL Network Tuesday and shared his message for any team that might opt for Trubisky over him.

You’re gonna have to live with the consequences that come with it. That’s how I see it,” Watson said. “I try to stay in my lane. I try not to take the path. I respect Mitch and what he’s done and all the hype he’s getting, but at the same time, my result speaks for itself. I feel like I’ve accomplished everything that I could. I guess if that’s who they’re gonna roll with, so be it.”

Deshaun Watson knew it before everyone. Knew it before Kiper and McShay, knew it before the fans, and definitely knew it before Ryan Pace. You see that picture above with Mitch’s “pro bowl” appearance with the other two quarterbacks from his draft class and you instantly get a pit in your stomach. One bad decision has probably stolen a Super Bowl from the Bears. They have everything else. Pace put together a very good roster overall and a world class defense and it doesn’t matter. The team stinks and people want Pace fired because…he missed on the most important decision of his career and drafted Mitchell Trubisky instead of Watson or Mahomes. It’s that simple.

I think at this point we have gotten enough clues from the coaching staff that they don’t think Mitch is the guy either. They’ve publicly talked about scaling back the playbook for the quarterback. And yet, even though they don’t trust Trubisky they still go out and throw it FIFTY-FOUR TIMES. 54 attempt for Trubisky. That is unacceptable. 7 rushing attempts. ON WALTER PAYTON BOBBLE HEAD DAY NO LESS. And don’t tell me it’s because they were behind in the second half. The game was 12-10 at halftime. They abandoned the running game because I don’t know…the option play on the first drive, with a QB who has a brace keeping his shoulder intact, didn’t work. Everyone is to blame. Pace, Nagy, the offensive line, Mitch Trubisky. It feels like the Bears are dead because they couldn’t get the QB right. Once again, wasting a Super Bowl caliber defense. Time is a flat circle.
