College Professor Busted For Spending $190,000 Grant On "The Area's Most Beautiful Women Dancing On Five Different Stages" (strippers)
Source - A former Drexel University professor blew nearly $200,000 of federal grant money in strip clubs and on other ‘improper purchases’, prosecutors revealed Monday.
Dr. Chika Nwankpa, 56, reportedly misappropriated funds issued by the Navy, the Department of Energy, and the National Science Foundation, to pay off hefty tabs at gentleman’s clubs and sports bars.

Drexel, where Nwankpa worked as head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, discovered the alleged fraud in 2017 during an internal audit and alerted the government.
Two hundred thousand dollars over ten years may not seem like a lot, but when you think about it… that’s $20,000 PER YEAR…for ten years. Meaning not only am I good at math, I’m able to round up to the nearest tenth (?) and divide by the number of years to reach the yearly total. It’s impressive stuff, although not nearly as impressive as the size of the testicles on Dr. Nwankpa. I mean it takes BALLS to use federal money to go to a strip club for as long as he did.
Here’s what the US prosecuting attorney had to say:
‘This is an example of flagrant and audacious fraud, and a shameful misuse of public funds.’ said US Attorney William McSwain. ‘The agencies providing these grant funds expect them to be used towards advancements in energy and naval technology for public benefit, not for personal entertainment.’
When investigators opened their probe later the same year, they’re said to have found that Nwankpa had been less than subtle about his extracurricular escapades.
According to prosecutors, the professor submitted several improper charges against his federal grants for ‘goods and services’ billed at strip clubs, including Club Risque, Cheerleaders, and the Tacony Club, spanning from 2007 until 2017.

He also used money on iTunes and sports bars, which isn’t that bad. Especially considering he immediately admitted it after he was caught.
Investigators also found he’d been misspending government issued funds in sports bars and on iTunes.
When confronted by authorities, Nwankpa came clean, admitting to being the culprit behind the unauthorized expenses and resigned from his post.
He also agreed to pay back $53,328 — less than a third of the overall bill he ran up.
McSwain lauded Drexel for reporting the matter but expressed disappointment that Nwankpa’s conduct ‘went unnoticed for so long.’
Drexel has agreed to pay $189,000 to resolve its potential civil liability in the case. The university said in a statement that it fully cooperated with the government investigation and since then it has improved its auditing controls.
I guess I just can’t get over the fact that he spent that much of someone else’s money and didn’t feel bad about it. I went to a strip club with Willie and felt bad about spending the money that he gave me. It wasn’t a lot, but it was definitely way more than I would ever spend let alone throw in the air the way I did.

Whatever. It’s the end of an Era for those strippers in Philly and hopefully the end of Dr. Nwankpa’s freedom. He should be locked up being such an idiot if nothing else. You can’t commit those kinds of crimes in 2019 and get away with it. He’s college educated, he should know that.
