"We Not Taking No Shit" - Marcus Morris After Getting Tossed From A Preseason Game For Hitting A Basketball Off A Grown Man's Forehead

MOOOOOOOOOOOK!!! It took less than one game and Marcus Morris is already everything Celtics fans promised he would be and then some. Reags blogged Marcus Morris bringing back 90s-style Knicks just like he promised.

Followed by Morris making it quite clear that he does not have a hint of remorse for tattooing the Spalding logo on Justin Anderson’s forehead. Sure, Marcus wishes he didn’t get ejected for it. But that’s what the preseason is all about. Getting your wind back, trying out all the new moves you tried out over the summer, and letting the rest of the league know your team will not be taking an ounce of shit during the season. As a Knicks fan that hasn’t had much to cheer for over the last 20 or so years, I’d prefer to have a contending team. But if that’s not going to be the case, I’d rather have a team that can beat up the other team if push comes to shove, which how all NBA fights inevitably go. Even if it costs the Knicks one game of Morris on the floor during a regular season game, it was worth it for the fans and for the message it sent.

Also, Marcus cursing in front of a hot mic and saying he’s happy to be a Knick after bailing on signing with the Spurs has him locked in as one of my favorite Knicks signings ever despite not playing an entire fake game let alone a real game.

P.S. I almost feel like Justin Anderson has to fight Mook before Friday’s game at MSG, right? Like in hockey when players drop their gloves when the opening puck hits the ice. There’s rude, there’s disrespectful, and then there’s getting a basketball booped onto your forehead during a preseason game. If fists aren’t in the air by the time the ball is during opening tip, I don’t know if Anderson’s reputation will ever recover.
