Kyle Van Noy and Mike Florio are in a Twitter Beef. Let the Games Begin.

New England Patriots v Tennessee Titans

Another week of practice getting ready for the Redskins on Sunday started out innocently enough for Kyle Van Noy.
He got high praise from the Linebacker Emeritus of the Patriots Dynasty:

He won the AFC DPOTW:

He did his regularly scheduled local radio appearance on Scott Zolak’s show where he was asked about being compared to Rodney Harrison:

Which is sort of an odd thing to say since Rodney Harrison is a respect guy and a Made Man in the Belichick Mafia. But OK. No disrespect intended, none taken, I guess. U

That is until Mike Florio, of all people, came bursting out of the locker room, ran down the aisle of the area, hopped over the top rope and into the ring to put a smackdown on Van Noy for the insolence:

And KVN clapped back:

Holy moly. I don’t think anyone could’ve seen this coming on a quiet Wednesday night. The Patriots defensive star of the week suddenly finding himself getting his ass dragged by one of the foremost football media moguls (and friend of Barstool) over the most recent Patriots Hall of Fame inductee. But this is what makes Twitter so great. Why I feel sorry for anyone who refuses to live a least a part of their lives on it. The stubborn Greatest Generation and Baby Boomer types who still live off the old model of getting their news from radio, TV or the morning papers. Without any two-way interaction, random, instant fights and inexplicable bad blood. It’s alphanumeric Thunderdome. Where you don’t even need a reason to go in and tear someone’s throat out, any hour of the day or night.

As far as Van Noy’s problem with being compared to one of the great defenders of the last football generation, He later cleared that up. Ish.

Listen, if I thought any player of today was ripping Harrison or claiming he’s much better than Rodney, I’d be flying off the turnbuckle at him too. And I respect anyone sticking up for a colleague if he thinks he’s getting maligned. I just know that Pats players don’t dump on the ones who came before them to build this Dynasty. Van Noy might not have articulated it perfectly, but there’s no animosity here. I don’t know how there could be. It’s a nothingburger with cheese and bacon and extra curly fries. But that doesn’t make it any less entertaining. And those of us who enjoy a great internet feud can only hope it continues.
