If You're Upset That Justin Fields Is Taking Online Classes At Ohio State Then You Are An Idiot
So yesterday during his media availability time, Justin Fields said that he takes online courses at Ohio State....
To manage his workload in his first season as Buckeyes starting quarterback, Fields signed up for online classes. “I can spend more time on football and studying, stuff like that,” Fields said. The schedule left him with few visits to campus or the rest of Columbus. Fields mused Tuesday afternoon that he hadn’t been around much, spending most of his time at home, where spare time involves watching Netflix, or at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center for workouts, meetings and other entertainment. “But from what I have seen, the campus is beautiful and the people around are great,” Fields said.
I saw that the internet and message boards are up in arms about what he said. Something about him not being a true "Student-Athlete"....
Listen, if you think I care AT ALL that Justin Fields might not be getting a quality education then I do not know what to tell you. You have no brain. I know that Ohio State is a prestigious university that a very small percentage of applicants get into, but that is for the common student. If you can play football, we've got a spot for you. And we're not going to make you do shit while you're here.
Well said, Cardale.
I remember when I went to Ohio State, you could tell right away on the first day if your class was going to be easy or hard. All you had to do was look around and see how many red jumpsuits were in the lecture hall. The more the better. Or, you could just see if there was an "attendance checker" wearing an Ohio State Football polo when you walked into the building. Point being, if you had football players in your class, you were going to be okay.
I hope Justin Fields is enrolled in some of my favorite online classes: History of Rock and Roll and Beer and Wine 101. But honestly, I hope he's not even the one doing the work. I hope we got him one of those "tutors" to work with. I want Justin Fields focused on nothing but football during his time here. And so far, he's off to a GREAT start.
Keep doing your thing, Justin. Let me know if you need any help with any school work. They'll never catch us with that. Just stay away from the tattoos...
