Dartmouth College Cancels Classes Because 12 KO Barstool Members Got Online Threats After Causing A Scene At Orientation Event

Bloomberg – Dartmouth College canceled all arts and science classes today after some students were targeted by online threats amid a protest against homophobia, sexual assault and racism disrupted an on-campus event. Classes were being replaced with lectures and teach-ins designed to unite students, faculty and staff to discuss Dartmouth’s commitment to “fostering debate that promotes respect for individuals, civil and engaged discourse and the value of diverse opinions,” the Hanover, New Hampshire-based college said in a statement on its website. More than a dozen protesters burst in on prospective students awaiting an annual welcome show on April 19, shouting, “Dartmouth has a problem!” according to the campus daily, the Dartmouth. Those students were then targeted with threats, mainly online, prompting some to stay off campus last weekend out of concern for their safety, the newspaper reported. “Threats and intimidation — even if made anonymously or online — violate our standards and expectations for the Dartmouth community,” Charlotte Johnson, dean of the college, said in a campus e-mail, according to the student newspaper. “That kind of behavior is never justified.”

The Dartmouth -The annual Dimnensions accepted students show was interrupted Friday night after over a dozen protesters pushed through individuals checking wristbands at the entrance of the Class of 1953 Commons. The protesters entered the dining hall at around 10:30 p.m. and began shouting “Dartmouth has a problem!”The group brandished posters with messages such as “I was called fag in my freshman dorm” and noted the College’s adoption of an Indian as its mascot in the first half of the 20th century. The protesters appeared to break College rules outlined in the Dartmouth Student Handbook, which bans conduct that “prevents or disrupts the effective carrying out of a College function or approved activity, such as classes, lectures, meetings, interviews, ceremonies and public events.” Another section of the handbook states that students are prohibited from “unauthorized entry into, or occupation of a private office, work area or a closed and/or College building.” One student checking wristbands at the door, who asked to remain anonymous, was pushed aside and sustained minor injuries when protestors forced entry. “We only assumed they would try to sneak in,” the student said. “We didn’t know they would actually physically try to get in after it was closed.” Lainie Caswell, a prospective student from Palo Alto, Calif., said the protest was a “low point of the weekend.” “It was definitely very off-putting,” she said. “I had just come from the Bay and I was like, ‘I love Dartmouth! This is so great.’ The way in which the protest was presented was very surprising.” Emily Leach ’16, a member of the Dimensions crew, said the protesters scared and confused potential students.

This is KO Barstool 101 right here. 12 weird looking people out of an entire campus protest, make a scene, cause a ruckus and then when the 99% of normal people get mad and start telling them to shut the fuck up, KO Barstool acts like they are the victims. Crying about how people are posting mean shit about them online. Well what did they expect? Everybody to hold hands, sing kumbaya and talk about how awesome they are.

Now Dartmouth has shut down the campus so they can have classes teaching people to respect these 12 looney bins who had no respect for everybody in the first place. It’s bizzaro world. I’ve never understood this. KO Barstool lunatics who think they can say and do whatever they want, but then bitch and moan when people get pissed at them.
