A Teacher is in Court Fighting for Her Legal Right to Have Sex With Students on School Property

SST

SourceA year after a married former high school choir director was arrested for allegedly having sex with one of her students, her lawyer is now claiming that the sex was consentual.

Haley Reed, 38, was a choir director at Oldham County High School in Buckner, Kentucky when she was arrested in June 2018 for allegedly having sex with a student eight times.

All the alleged incidents with the teen, who was 17 at the time, took place on school property, WLKY in Louisville, Kentucky reported last year. Reed was charged with multiple accounts of third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy and first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and has since been released on $25,000 bond.

Now, Reed’s lawyer is claiming that the charges against her are unconstitutional.

“What we want is conformity, uniformity of the law and we want the judge that’s handling this case, obviously, to strike that portion of the law and declare it to be unconstitutional – because it is,” attorney Greg Simms told WHAS11 in Louisville. …

“There’s the big hole that we’re trying to fix,” Simms told WHAS11, stating that if his client was a teacher at a different school and had sex with the victim, that would be considered legal.

I remember Haley Reed. Choir teacher. Married. Sodomy charges. On school property. Sure, I graded her. I gave a B+ overall it seems. And to be clear, if you Google the name “Haley Reed” for more information, you’re mostly going to get a very attractive adult film star by the same name (here’s her SFW-ish IMDB page). So be forewarned.

I thought I’d probably never hear from this Haley Reed again, but here she is, fighting for her constitutionally protected freedom to cheat on her husband in between classes with a teenager she was hired to teach singing to. I can’t pretend to know the validity of the legal arguments her attorneys are making. But I’m sure that like all matters of great, precedent-setting jurisprudence, they are facing an uphill climb.

That’s the case any time an individual is fighting for personal freedoms in the face of powerful interests. Just like in Brown v. the Board of Education established “separate but equal” is not equal or Gideon v. Wainwright affirmed the right to counsel. I have no doubt that crazed, reckless, teenage penis-adjacent everywhere are pulling for their own rights in the case of Sex Scandal Teacher v. Kentucky.

So godspeed, Mrs. Reed. You crazy, musical, horndog boner garage, you. Fight for your right to party. Go out there and bring some justice to all your fellow SSTs.
