The NCAA Officially Hits Bill Self And Kansas Hoops With Major Violations - BONUS: KU Football 'Cheats' Too!

So not a surprise since we heard on Friday that this would likely be happening. But now we know that there are Level I violations alleged against both the program and Bill Self. The two important things to remember here is 1) we won’t know really what the penalties are for months still and 2) we’re in a new world with the NCAA and it doesn’t make sense to look anything in the past to try and guess what the penalties will be.

Kansas was all over the FBI trial and this is what it all stems from. But, here’s where it gets interesting going forward. Remember, Kansas said THEY were the victim in the whole Adidas scandal. Now, the NCAA is saying Adidas acted as a booster.

Naturally, Kanas is fighting back against this and pulling out the UNC card by really going after the NCAA:

But, here’s the good stuff. The NCAA is implicating Larry Brown. Larry Brown hasn’t coached at Kansas since 1988! 1988! That’s so long ago. It’s also absolutely hilarious that Larry Brown is being implicated here. I will laugh my ass off if the NCAA goes after Roy at Kansas too just to get everyone involved.

We also have them citing something that happened in 1957.

What do we think the illegal transportation was in 1957 for Kanas basketball? A Greyhound ticket? Maybe upgraded to first class on a train? Just an absolutely outrageous move to have to list something that Kansas did in 1957 during these allegations, but hey, it’s the NCAA, nothing they do makes sense.

And if that’s enough here’s the real kicker. Kansas football cheats!

Poor David Beaty. He’s out here getting a show-cause for having extra coaches and having a record of 6-42. How do you ‘cheat’ and only have a record of 6-42?!? That’s almost impossible. Just goes to show you that every single major program and Division I program ‘cheats’ at some level.

Now, as much as I’d love to see Kansas and their annoying ass fans get blasted here, I just can’t get behind the NCAA. I refuse. The NCAA needs to adjust. We’re talking about people getting money. Who gives a shit? No one gives a shit, especially when it’s not some astronomical amount.

However, we wait to see what happens. It’ll *likely* be a postseason ban, loss of scholarships, banners taken down (2018 Final Four) and probation. Bill Self wins so there’s no reason for Kansas to do anything with Bill Self just yet. We’ll see in 9ish months what the NCAA does though.
