Pat Fitzgerald Doesn't Care That His Offensive Scheme Sucks

Many of you know that I’m a batshit crazy Northwestern fan.  I have been since I started attending games in the late 90s.  When it’s fall, I care about Northwestern football, almost as much as the White Sox and more the every other team in Chicago, the Bears included.  It’s a weird life and there aren’t many of us and I fully realize not many people give a fuck about them whatsoever.  Preaching to the choir.  But to me, that’s what makes this particular fandom fun.  They literally launched an entire marketing campaign geared to me, the Chicago fan that didn’t attend the university.  Chicago’s Big Ten Team!  So you should be happy that people like me give a shit about what happened Saturday.

I left the stadium Saturday afternoon at a loss of words.  I was so flabbergasted with what I saw on the field that I couldn’t even feel emotion.  I saw them lose to Army, ISU, WMU and other shitbag schools and left the stadium disgusted.  I saw them beat OSU in 2004 and was on cloud 9.  I saw the Michigan game where Anthony Thomas fumbled the game away and couldn’t sleep I was so happy.  Saw them blow a 35 point lead to MSU about 10 years ago.  I’ve left the stadium feeling elated, pissed off, disgusted, and every emotion in between.

But not Saturday.  And that’s why it’s perfectly fine for me to call out that dog shit performance.  You know you have an issue when your biggest fan doesn’t even feel anything after a 3 touchdown loss at home.  And it’s not just me, the arm chair QB calling for the offensive staff’s head, it’s your own former players too:

I might not know a thing about the innards of football, but these two guys played for you, so something tells me they do in fact know a thing or two about this scheme.  So take it from them, don’t take it from me.  You have the best facilities in college football, access to a world class city, a thoroughbred talent at QB and one of the best degrees on earth to sell, but the offensive scheme STINKS.  I know it, your current and former players know it and deep down in the back of your head, you know it too.  That’s not me being negative, that’s an objective fucking fact.

-23.5 point dogs at Wisco next week.  If this trend continues, I’d really hope heads start to roll.
