A Fashion Brand Has Decided To Make A School Shooting Line And It Is Idiotic And Repulsive To Say The Least
Today - Streetwear brand Bstroy is facing backlash after debuting their latest clothing collection.
The New York-based brand unveiled its spring 2020 collection at a fashion show earlier this week, and many Instagram users are calling some of the designs “disgusting” and “tasteless” in response. The garments at the center of the controversy? A series of sweatshirts embroidered with the names of several school shootings locations, including Sandy Hook, Columbine, Virginia Tech and Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
Each of the sweatshirts also features tattered details and distressing that resemble bullet holes.

I don’t want to have too hot of a take here, but uhhhh…this sucks. This isn’t edgy or art or some sort of statement, this just sucks. And I don’t think “offensive” is the correct word here. It’s idiotic. It’s plain dumb. This is just blatantly profiting off of tragedy and normalizing school shootings to the point they are making it a fashion statement, complete with faux-bullet holes. Grosssssss. I don’t even know how this gets made and then uploaded onto the internet for all to see. Like at some point someone has to be like “hey fellas, that whole Columbine line we are working on, how bout no”. And who would ever buy this stuff? Someone is going to walk around in public wearing one of those hoodies? Pretty nuts.
And the thing is, this seems like a clothing brand people actually know of. It’s not Nike or whatever, but it seems to have a decent following. Why would they do this to themselves? Seems like self-sabotage for no reason at all. There’s no statement to be made here. It’s not bringing awareness or anything. It’s selling way marked up clothes, trying to be so different and edgy for the sake of it, and looking like complete assholes as a result. Just so, so dumb.
