Enes Kanter Is Pressing All The Right Pandering Buttons And I Cannot Get Enough

The Enes Kanter Era could not be off to a better start when it comes to pandering to us Celtics fans. It all started when he took a shot at well known Celtics hater Nick Wright

then it went up a notch at his introductory press conference when he clowned Kyrie

then he went on TV last month and talked about how much better of a leader Kemba is than Kyrie, a topic that is like heroin to Celtics fans as we enter next season

and now here we have him talking about our other soft spot in Gordon Hayward. Look, everyone is talking about how much work Hayward is putting in and how he’s in great shape and is at the facility every second of every day and all this bullshit. It’s coming from Wyc, Danny, Brad, everyone. I get the apprehension to believe this because of how last year went, but look this was always the summer we had to wait for as Hayward makes his way back. He hadn’t had a summer 100% healthy since his ankle exploded, so I’m willing to let myself get excited again, I can’t help it. When someone like Kanter, who played with Hayward and know what he’s capable is saying stuff like this I am going to eat it up even if I know he’s 100% pandering and telling me things I want to hear. When your only evidence of Hayward’s progression is this

I’ll take whatever I can get. There’s no denying that how Hayward looks is going to play a gigantic part in what this team’s ceiling ultimately is. If he comes back and looks like the Utah Hayward, then the entire dynamic of this team changes. If after this offseason of work he’s still the hesitant player we saw last year that was basically a disaster, this team is even more fucked than you may have thought. If you’re telling me his confidence is back which was by far his biggest issue last year well…

Time will tell if all this talk about Hayward putting in the work will actually prove to be effective once the games start, but I have to say Enes Kanter has wasted no time winning me over since he signed on the dotted line. When it comes to this topic

which means I’m ready to let my heart and my brain prepare for this version of Gordon Hayward. Let’s go
