Victor Oladipo Looking Healthy Again Is Very Awesome To See

Now this is something you like to see I don’t care if you’re a Pacers fan or not. We haven’t really seen much from Oladipo as he works his way back from that brutal ruptured quad injury back in January. I’m not going to link it here because it’s still early and frankly it was gross. It came at a time when Oladipo was playing some of the best basketball of his career which is why it was so unfortunate, and the Pacers barely survived without him before getting swept in the first round. If they have a healthy Oladipo all year, I don’t think it’s crazy to think their season may have gone a little differently. Remember this was a team that was flirting with a top 3 seed before he got hurt. They have a little bit of a different roster heading into this season, but they certainly aren’t chopped liver.

So even though he’s only taking jumpers in this video, we all know how intoxicating summer workout highlight videos can be. If I were a Pacers fan, this would have me both excited and terrified all at the same time. You combine that video with the one he put out about a month ago

and it certainly looks like the expected return date of December/January that the team talked about is well on schedule. In today’s NBA where players and teams are ridiculously cautious when guys come back from injury, I’d say don’t even think about rushing it. The Pacers can tread water without Oladipo, live in that 4-6 range for a while and then when he’s back at 100% for the second half of the year, then make a run. To me, what version of Oladipo they get is going to really decide this team’s ceiling. If he comes back and is pre injury 2018 Oladipo, the Pacers can be a thorn in someone’s side no doubt. If he comes back and is more like 2018 Gordon Hayward, well, that certainly lowers their ceiling.

A prime candidate for Comeback Player Of The Year, it’s just awesome to see Oladipo healthy and on his way back because the player he’s turned into while with the Pacers is really fun to watch and we were robbed of that last season.
