Drew Brees' Severed Thumb Is Going To Cost Him The All-Time Passing Record To... You Guessed It.... Tom Brady

I posted this on twitter and no one seemed to give a fuck which I take to mean that people wanted a blog about it.

I think this is fascinating shit. Two storied careers that will equal one or both of these men passing ole Peyton Manning for the all-time regular-season passing TD crown. Sure, Tom Brady holds the overall touchdown and passing marks by a long shot. He’s beating Brees by nearly 3k yards if you included the playoffs and Brady is beating Brees by 42 touchdowns if you include the playoffs. Just staggering numbers.

Brees had this big celebration last year about having the all-time marks. I think sitting these 6 weeks changes all that forever. Brady will probably average 3.5 touchdowns a game and be up by 21 touchdowns when Brees returns. That’ll be too much for Brees to come back from.

Aaron Donald’s big ole paw changed the QB record books forever. Incredible.
