On Thursday, “Jersey Shore” star Mike Sorrentino was granted an early release from the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in upstate New York, where he was serving an eight-month sentence for tax evasion. “We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life. Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort,” Sorrentino told Page Six in a statement. “We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations!

I know The Situation getting out of the clink a week after summer unofficially wrapped up is a bummer for a man who made his bones by partying at the Jersey Shore shirtless. But having your freedom trumps partying during any month of the year and I’m sure Karma or The Bamboo Bar will be more than happy to dust off a spot in the VIP section for a newly free man.

Then again, it appears The Situation may be ready to move onto the next phase of life after spending 8 months GTL’ing in a federal penitentiary (my tax dollars better not be paying for any tanning beds). Because if I’m reading Sitch’s statement correctly, I believe he is going to be taking all that baby-making practice he did with random grenades over the years and apply it to bringing a new Situation into the world, with Round 1 potentially coming sooner rather than later based on Mrs. Situation’s perfect tweet from this morning.
