Going Over Luke Willson’s Gameplan *IF* He Gets Cut by the Raiders

The star of last night’s Hard Knocks episode was Oakland Raiders TE Luke Willson. The guest on today’s Pardon My Take episode also happens to be… Oakland Raiders TE Luke Willson.

Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter wrapped up the interview, as always, with the SeatGeek Question (Promo Code: TAKE gets you $10 off your first SeatGeek purchase). This one involved mapping out certain situations IF Luke Willson were to get cut between now and the time HBO stops filming Hard Knocks. The transcript is below:

Mr. Cat: I’m going to bring up something that’s maybe a little touchy, but I have to do it, okay? We have to talk about this, we gotta gameplan. If you were to get cut on Hard Knocks, what is our gameplan? The way I see it, we have two options. One, I would love see someone just never show back up to the facility, so they call you, and you don’t show back up. That probably wouldn’t be good for your future, so we’ll table that. Two, what if we sent you a bunch of Pardon My Take stuff and you got cut with a Pardon My Take shirt on, that would be legendary.

Luke Willson: Ship it, man! Ship it right now and I’ll stroll in there. In case that does happen, I do have a bit of a plan. But I really don’t want to be the veteran white guy that they make some soft story around. So, I can’t really tell the plan yet because I haven’t finalized it, but me and hard Knocks kind of have a battle going right now and I think I’ve got to get the last laugh of this one. Like if they’re expecting some tears and a lot of sadness, I’m just not going to fucking give it to them, man!

Mr. Cat: Or, here’s what you really do. Because you’re saying this right now, go over the top with the tears and sadness, but it’s all a joke because we’re talking about it right now so it was clearly you acting. So when everyone is like ‘Oh my God Luke Willson,’ we can go over the top and be like ‘You idiot, he planned this whole thing.’

Luke Willson: Yeah, we can definitely do that but I think I need the Pardon My Take gear because I will gladly wear that in there.

Mr. Commenter: We’ll get it to you. Another move you could do is when you sit down, don’t let them have the satisfaction of cutting you from the team, heaven forbid if this is what is comes to, just sit down and say, ‘Hey I just want to let you know I quit.’ So, you quit before they cut you.

Luke Willson: (Laughing) Could you imagine if they give me a call to bring in my iPad and charger, and I stroll in and say I’m bringing this back because I quit… With my PMT shirt on.

Mr. Cat: Perfect. Obviously, we don’t want this to happen, I don’t think it will happen. Your hair is awesome, you’re an awesome guy, every team needs a glue guy, but we will have this just in case. You just sob on national television in a Pardon My Take shirt, maybe a Larry shirt.

Luke Willson: I love it guys. I’m in.

If the guys pulled this off, it would make for great television. Of course, as mentioned in the interview, we are rooting for Luke to make the team. But honestly, it’s smart of them to be prepared from all angles. And at least if Willson gets “the call” at some point over the next seven days, there is a sophisticated plan in place to have some fun with it.
