Carli Lloyd Has Received Offers To Kick In An NFL Preseason Game, Is Too Busy Still Dominating The World With The USWNT
Fox Sports – Carli Lloyd has been offered the chance to make history by becoming the first woman to play in a National Football League preseason game, her trainer James Galanis told FOX Sports on Monday…
…“Today, she got another call from another NFL team,” Galanis told me in a telephone conversation on Monday. “The one that called today, I don’t want to say who it is, was willing to put her on the roster for their next (game). They were willing to put her on the roster.”
Galanis continued: “She was told (she could) play on Thursday, the NFL game, but she is playing Thursday with the national team, so that was the conflict.”
It is likely that Lloyd, who was unavailable for comment at press time, would have turned down the chance in any case, due to the limited amount of preparation time. However, the prospect of becoming a true pioneer for sporting gender equality has serious appeal.
It looks like maybe you should hold off on grabbing a kicker in your fantasy draft because the day is going to come when Carli Lloyd is out there going bombs away from 50+ in an NFL stadium. Sure, this wasn’t close to an actual in game scenario…

…but leg strength is leg strength, and you just can’t teach that.
Obviously leg strength alone isn’t what makes a successful kicker in the NFL though. The other half of it is mental. We’ve seen plenty of guys come into the league who can boot the ball 1000 yards. But when it comes time to actually making the kick in a game, they look like they’ve never had feet before in their life. But for Carli Lloyd? Well she’s already won 2 World Cups. I think she knows a thing or two about handling pressure. I also think she knows a thing or do about banging in some big time shots.
There’s going to be at least two or three kickers in the league this year that are god awful fucking. And now that she’s already getting calls from NFL teams? All I’m saying is that we’re one Cody Parkey Week 10 against Detroit performance away from Carli Lloyd getting a shot. It won’t happen this week in preseason since she’ll be a little too busy kicking Portugal’s ass with the USWNT. But if there’s one thing that we know about kickers, it’s only a matter of time before enough of them fuck up and Carli Lloyd gets her shot.
P.S. – I mean it had to have been the Bears that offered her a roster spot for Thursday, right? Maybe Atlanta? We need to know.
