NYCFC With Robbie Recap - Player Interviews, Legends Suite And More!

ICYMI I took Robbie on a little recruiting trip with some help from my friends over at NYCFC and let me tell you, I may be the best recruiter of all time. We got some exclusive access seats, access to players, and some awesome perks courtesy of the best and ONLY club in New York City. Here is a quick runthrough of how our trip went:

– We showed up at the VIP entrance and were greeted not only with front row pitch-side seats, but customized jerseys! Mine said Barstool #19 because I am a shill, and Robbie’s said Octagon Bob, which is probably the coolest jersey of all time.

Please keep in mind that both Robbie and I are used to sitting in cheap seats at Yankee games, getting herded through the main gates like cattle.

– Next, they took us over to the Legends Suite dining room, which was more or less the greatest food I’ve had in a long time. Remember the dining hall in college? Imagine if every station was professionally catered by a Michelin 3-star chef.

– They brought us down to our seats which were front row of the pitch, I’m talking Etihad First Class Club. LOOK AT THIS SHIT!

We were right next to the away team bench, and Crew coach (former Timbers and U.S. U-23 coach) Caleb Porter was right in our grill all game. Halftime we got to go to the Pepsi Lounge as well (shoutout to Pepsi for generally being awesome).

– After the game wrapped, we got a chance to go in the locker room and talk to some of the players as well. Folks, the Yankee Stadium locker room is LAVISH!

– It was my personal first time being a big J and was definitely very nervous, but I think it all mostly worked out. As far as the actual game goes, I’ll let this clip do the talking:

Taty continues to be one of the most electric players in this league. Look at the patience on this break!

They had some decent opportunities throughout the first half, but the midfield was definitely struggling. It wasn’t their best effort but like my good friend Anton Tinnerholm said, points are points. This is a big momentum builder going into the Derby on Saturday where they look to smash those pissant Red Bulls coming off a fraud win vs DC (Rooney’s red card was big time BS). Hey, Red Bulls players, I’m speaking directly to you. Don’t even bother show up!

Big thanks to the club for showing us such a great time and making a brand new superfan out of Robbie Fox. Also, shoutout to Sams Army for letting us do a mini-takeover of the instagram last night. Make sure to go follow the account not only for Robbie and I’s full stadium experience on his story for the next few hours, but also for the great soccer content Sam puts out as well (subscribe to the pod!)
