You Won't Believe What Aaron Judge Did Last Night

New York Yankees v Oakland Athletics

The Yankees lost a baseball game last night to the Oakland A’s 6-2. Whatever. The first game of a west coast swing in August when you’re 100 games up. If you get mad at that on August 20th then you do you. I’m looking at the positives. One big positive came off of number 99’s bat.

Yes folks, that’s not CGI. Aaron Judge pulled a baseball over the fence for a monster, Judgian home run. It happened. We found out last night he’s still capable of this. 467 feet. 116 mph off the bat. Instant erection. I’ll take an irrelevant loss to Oakland if it meant seeing that.

Why is this such a big deal? Well, entering that at bat this was his spray chart.

Insane.

Now I have no problem with a guy going to the opposite field. In fact, at Yankee Stadium I encourage it. But it’s been quite alarming since his return from the I.L. with his badly pulled oblique that he’s had virtually no power to the left side. It had been suggested by a few former major leaguers that Judge would never recover fully from the injury this year and would be playing at less than 100%. That seems to be the case, but I think he’s starting to get out of this. He finished the Cleveland series with back to back multi-hit games, including a a few balls pulled to the left side. I predicted on The Short Porch that he would break out during this west coast trip. Well, I’d 467 feet to left field is a good sign of things to come.

We get Aaron Judge cooking and it’s game fucking over.

As for the rest of the game? I’m just concerned about Domingo’s knee which he fell on. As long as that’s okay I’m okay. He’s not a great road pitcher. He’s ERA at home is in the 2’s while on the road near 6. Not great, but he’s still young and learning. It’s one bad start in a place the Yankees never play well in. Relax. At least the game didn’t go until 2am last night. Flush the loss away and go win tonight.

Alright flush that loss away and let’s go avoid the sweep on Thursday!
