A New York Airport Security Worker Has Been Fired After Giving A Traveler A Note That Said "You Ugly!!"

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A bizarre story from the Greater Rochester International Airport: A security worker was caught on tape passing a note with a mean message to a traveler. As a result, she lost her job. That traveler, Neal Strassner, said the worker gave him a note as he was passing through the security checkpoint. After he passed through he began walking away and heard the worker yell back at him “You going to open the note?” At that point, Neal says he opened the note, which said “You ugly!!!” and the employee began bursting out in laughter.

Holy shit it would suck to work a normal job. I don't know how you guys do it every single day without blowing your brains out. You can literally have zero fun or else you're fired. I mean, am I wrong here or was she just trying to lighten up a monotonous work environment? You decide:

What am I missing here? This is clearly a joke. She was passing notes to passengers as they went through the metal detectors. Her job is to do the same thing over and over and over again, so she tried to make some people laugh. She didn't specifically single this guy out, and you know that because she reaches to get more paper for the next guy.

Look at what she wrote to this guy that was so offended he complained, had her fired, and went on the news:

If you get that offended over getting called ugly, then guess what: you're ugly. But from what I can see, there's nothing outrageous about his appearance. She was giving that piece of paper to the next person that came through the line, regardless of appearance. She was just joking around, as evidenced by how hard she laughed when the passengers would read her note.

I side with the lady here. Was it unprofessional? Yeah, probably. And in today's day and age, messing around in the airport security line probably isn't the best idea. But is this really a fire-able offense? Her boss could've told her to stop it and everything would be fine. She did not deserve to be fired. The airport security workers should unionize.
