Millennial Genius: Kentucky Teen Catches Stove On Fire While On Her Phone, Gets Phone Taken Away, Goes Viral Tweeting From Smart Fridge To Keep Her Ariana Grande Fan Account Alive

Why might she lose her phone? Well according to CBS NewsDorothy said she was boiling rice one night and was too preoccupied by her phone, so the stove burst into flames. “So my mom took all my tech so i’d pay more attention to my surroundings,” she said.

Who hasn’t been there? I’m constantly looking at my phone when I’m waiting for something like rice to boil. Granted, I’m also a person who in high school burnt Easy Mac not once but twice. Sometimes you get distracted and forget to put water in the bowl. Fight me about it. But I digress.

Naturally when you lose your phone you start looking elsewhere. Can I tweet my computer? Probably taken away too. So shout out Dorothy who went to her Nintendo Wii. HOWEVAH, her mom was onto her.

Shout out Harriet, Dororthy’s friend here who is playing part hero. She was able to sneak away and be active. A key when you’re around 500 followers and tweeting about Ariana Grande. Personally, I’d throw out a butthole eyes comment, that’s how you get her attention. But, constantly tweeting and going to extreme measures help too.

And then we found it. The most genius move a millennial can make. You go to your smart fridge. I have no idea exactly how they work – I’m not fancy enough for a smart fridge. But apparently Dorothy was able to get onto the fridge and talk to it. Send tweet. Boom, 79,500 likes. Not too shabby for a 15-year old from Kentucky.

She had #FreeDorothy trending. She went from 500 followers to over 30,000. That’s an insane number in a few days. I’d kill to have that sort of jump. I don’t know how I can do that crazy jump without challenging AOC to a debate or having my phone taken away from my mom, which is hard to do when you’re 32. She even had Twitter and LG tweeting about her.

This is just a huge win for millennials everywhere. Oh you’re a parent thinking you can just take away a phone and twitter? I don’t think so. Smart fridges are around and there’s ZERO chance her mom had any idea how to work that.
