Following what had to be a fuckwad of a surgery on a COMPLETELY rearranged nose, UFC Welterweight “Platinum” Mike Perry shared a pretty damn classy note to the man who sent him to the operating table in the first place. Dude literally jokes about the alien-looking nose that now lies on his face…

…says he shoulda kept his guard up, and mentions he’d like to train with Vicente Luque when he’s all healed up to help his former opponent match up better against wrestlers. Luque hit Perry right back in the comments, telling him he’s down to train, and the Rocky/Apollo feel-good story is set. Kinda beautiful! Just 24 hours prior, they basically tried to kill each other, and here they are, becoming friends and potentially sparring partners! I know that MMA is MMA and everyone knows what they’re signing up for, but still, I don’t think I could possibly be this kind to someone who made my nose into a backwards question mark. Although, with a fight as good as these two had, and for a fight as close as this one was (it ended in a decision that easily could’ve gone to Perry), I guess ya wear it with pride!

Perry’s gonna be out of competition for quite a long time now, and we’ll miss his crazy ass, but he’s GOTTA heal up. From Cowboy Cerrone torquing his arm into snapping all the way to getting his face busted in this weekend, “Platinum” has had a bit of a rough past few months. That’s a lot of damage to be taking.

P.S. I think Mike Perry realistically just wants to train with literally everybody on the planet. Pretty sure he’s a YP type where he just always wants to tussle.
