BREAKING: White Sox and Yankees To Play At The "Field of Dreams" In 2020
This is big, big news. This is what I was told last night when I received the info:
The White Sox are attempting to make their organization a brand name and kill off as many of their poor stigmas as possible. It starts with accruing superstar talent like Yoan Moncada, Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, Dylan Cease and more. It ends with them being perennial World Series contenders. Sure they have to put their money where their mouth is aka spend on free agents but aside from having studs on the roster, they want to have as many of the country’s eyeballs on their product as possible moving forward.
Now that was paraphrased – it was on a phone call while I was on the way home from Vito and Nick’s (8.5 for those wondering, great pizza) but that’s the jist of it.
But the point remains: all eyes will be on the White Sox and their young core in a nationally televised game that takes place on the grounds of the most famous baseball movie/book/scandal of all time. Oh, and it’s against the most famous organization in American sports. This is going to be an INSANELY hard ticket to get. And the White Sox are playing in it.
Go ahead and laugh. I deserve it and the White Sox deserve it. But that’s the goddamn truth. Whether or not that happens we will find out, but that’s their end goal. And I knowing that gives me straight up chills.

Out of all the bullshit we’ve dealt with as fans in the last 15 years, this phone call made got me incredibly pumped up for the future. I was pounding my fist in the air for 20 straight minutes as soon as I hung up.
Pray for the goddamn league. Jerry Reinsdorf, Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn are done fucking around. Let’s fucking gooooooooo!!!!
PS – I know it wouldn’t really make sense to play at the Field of Dreams if the game wasn’t between the Yankees and White Sox. It just wouldn’t make sense for the Red Sox and Cubs or any other two teams to play in a game at this exact location. But this was the White Sox idea because of everything I noted above. They are ready to rock and this is going to be one way to show off their product next year.
